Hello everyone, I’m so pleased to inform you that I finally wrote the end of posting exam last week, and I am so happy. I feel free and light, like a heavy burden was lifted off my shoulder. That posting was truly a burden.

Anyway, instead of moving to special posting surgery, we were asked to begin community health posting instead(that is, community diagnosis).
I really don’t care where we move to, as long as we keep moving.

Yesterday was Day 1 of the posting, and it took the whole day. From introduction to do’s and don’t, to lectures on mapping and study design. From 8am to 5pm. And that was supposed to be the easiest day of the posting. Hmm, we are in for a real tough ride for the next 1 month, but it’s okay. I prefer this to staying at home indefinitely.

Today, we’ll be going to the community to introduce ourselves, visit the gatekeepers (Chief, village heads, other stakeholders), get the history of the community and other important information about them, do some mapping and return for lectures in questionnaire design. In the end, we’ll be expected to produce a document, more like a booklet to be published, on our activities in the community and interventions made.

It promises to be interesting, though stressful. But hey, an average Nigerian’s status quo everyday is STRESS. So I guess I’m not alien to it.

And interestingly, I’m 7 months away from my induction, all things being equal. Yippee.

Enjoy your week.
