Episode 2
What a rude awakening, she thought to herself as she felt a sharp pain on her chest. Someone had pressed his knuckle on the mid-part of her chest as if to injure her. She opened her eyes to behold the most dark-skinned human she had ever seen with the whitest set of teeth and the whitest coat, staring down at her with his bright but peaceful eyes, “what is your name?”, he asked.
Yes right. What is my name? Who am I? she thought to herself, trying to figure out who she was then it hit her, the worst headache she had ever had, almost splitting her head into bits. She opened her mouth to scream but no sound came out.
She held tight to the doctor’s hand as if to say, please help me, but he couldn’t understand.
She looked around her but everyone seemed to be in one pain or another, fighting for their lives.
She looked on in despair as the doctors tried to secure an IV access, rush fluids into her and put a neck collar on her. So much seemed to be happening so fast at the same time.
Her mind went wild, thinking of all possible injuries she could have sustained as it now dawned on her that she had an accident. Oh no, oh no she thought. Her heart beating, her mind racing, she broke into a pool of sweat, fear gripped her.
Then it all went dark and silent again.
But this time, it seemed all the patients had moved into her mind space. There were 6 of them in all. Dealing with the trauma of her own experience was bad enough, now imagine having that multiplied by 6, it was crazy.
There was Harry, a young boy about 15 years old who had being a long rider on his uncle’s motorcycle which he had taken without permission, to have a joy ride.
He thought riding a bike was equivalent to a bicycle, until he turned the key, and saw himself flying without wings, heading straight for an electric pole which he collided with head on and immediately passed out. He was screaming in pain yet so confused, not knowing where he was. One could think he was raving mad. He had a black circle around his eye with blood trickling down from a wound on his head. Charisa had never seen such amount of blood in her life.
The ER was like a market place, the doctors didn’t know who to attend to first as all the patients seemed to have dire emergencies. Suddenly, there was a loud cry from one of the cubicles, and everyone rushed there.
Who was that? Why the cry? What exactly happened?
