With eyes as bright as the stars and a toothless smile, there she was, staring at me and making me want for a bowl of ice cream, though that may not be so ideal now as the weather was hitting 14 degrees and the rain would not just stop.
But that was the feeling i go every time i say her cute little face. My angel, my first fruit, my biggest blessing. When i was pregnant with her, i wondered how i would cope with caring for her and continuing my house job as no official leave was available for houseofficers who were still considered as doctors-in- training.
However, God surrounded me with the most caring, understanding and loving colleagues and superiors. They would do anything for me and would literally give me the day off if i as much as looked a bit stressed.
Even the initial two months I didn’t work and was threatened with an extension by the administrator, my consultants were willing to go talk with him and relieve me of that extension.
I am indeed blessed with the gift of MEN.
Oh, i just realised it was almost 8am and i had to rush to drop off baby Ava at the creche. Look at me, lost in my daydreams again and running late to work…oops.
But going to GAWIM will be my first road and air trip with my little angel. I can’t wait to explore the the city of Eko with her and experience new beauties.
I think we deserve a selfie at the beach. What do you think?
Also, I would love for her to begin to experience the worth of mentorship and sisterhood. Even if she will seem not to understand anything happening there, you never can tell what effect an early exposure can have. And she just might actually understand everything happening there.
