Dr Chichi Menakaya
Dr Chichi Menakaya (Chinyelu Uchechukwu Anne-Menakaya) is a Nigerian trauma and orthopedic surgeon based in the United Kingdom. She is the founder of the Annomo Health concierge service, which brings together doctors and hospitals to the awareness of patients.
She obtained her MBBS at the University of Ibadan in 2006 and then went on to have an MSc from the Imperial College London and a Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Membership in 2011.
Menakaya has held honorary lectures at Hull and York Medical Schools in Yorkshire, United Kingdom, and works as a surgical medical student tutor for the University College of London.
Dr Menakaya, through a non-profit organization, Okwuí Mask Scheme, based in the United Kingdom and Nigeria, empowers victims of domestic violence.
She is also the founder of Okwuís_Frocentric, a fashion line with African ideas.
She has won notable awards such as the UK Trauma and Orthopedic Women Trailblazer for the International Women’s Day 2021 and the prestigious WJ Little Prize for Trauma Orthopaedics at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital 2022
Her special interest is bone health, especially with regard to active aging towards independent elderly living. Chichi has won awards for her contributions to the growth of trauma and orthopedic research internationally with over 20 cited publications and 30 international presentations.
In her spare time, she is a motivational speaker, an advocate for gender based violence and active living. She is an avid reader and loved to travel.
